We talk about the importance of self care and what that actually means. We also discuss conditions that society places on moms when we need help from organizations and/or government. This is an important discussion for us moms.

She shares her love of the outdoors and her intentionality with mothering her kids in a rural environment and her journey into and through motherhood.

In part two of Mindy's interview, she shares her adoption story of a beautiful baby girl with Down's Syndrome. It is fascinating how her and her husband's adoption story of this baby girl intricately connects with the beginnings of her story she shared in part one! She shares the joys and challenges of being an "older mom", inducing lactation, and straddle parenting, and teaching skills to her kiddo with special needs. 
She shares the challenges of finding community for her child with special needs and the importance of taking care of each other.
In the post show, Lisa shares her experience of fostering a child. Jenny and Lisa talk about the traits we are born with and the challenges of that.
Jenny and Lisa also discuss what it means to them individually to be either pro life or pro choice and have an honest and vulnerable conversation of the differences and similarities they hold.

This week, Dear Moms introduces part one of two interviews with Mindy Brouse.
In this part 1 interview, Jenny and Lisa talk with Mindy about her career/calling as deaf educator, and how this led to her and her husband fostering a deaf child for 6 years. Mindy speaks to the complexities of fostering an older child and the impact on her, the child and her family. She also shares insight into her life as a camp director, camp mom and a camp wife while raising her growing family. In our pre-show, learn how Jenny and Lisa met and how they became friends! We also introduce our new format of dividing our interviews into two parts with a pre and post show! In our post show, we talk about some tender topics like how it feels like society often blames moms for things that happen with our kids. We also learn how Lisa is becoming brave and discover Jenny's one flaw.  Enjoy the episode!
