Hello Dear Moms! Join us for this week's episode! We are taking this week as a one off from our normal interview release to give you all a podcast and life update! Join us for Part 2 of our interview with Sarah! In this episode, we explore challenges of being a single mom. We talk about the reality of raising children on your own without any support from the other parent. Sarah discusses the powerful truth of motherhood; that when you decide to be a mom, you are making that choice that your very life could be taken and the physical connection that moms have with their children. We talk about the importance of self care and what that actually means. We also discuss conditions that society places on moms when we need help from organizations and/or government. This is an important discussion for us moms.

Jenny and Lisa interview Sarah in this weeks episode.  In part one of this two part series,  Sarah shares her life as a professional dancer and all the hard work, dedication and sacrifice that goes into a dance career. She also gently discusses her journey through becoming a mom and also experiencing miscarriages. She talks about how extremely lonely and challenging having a miscarriage can be and how we need to reach each other in those spaces. Listen in to this special interview!

Dear Moms chat with Natasha about growing up in Panama, nostalgia for childhood, multigenerational living and more!

Jenny and Lisa interview Natasha in this weeks episode. In this conversation, we learn about Natasha's life growing up in Panama and what it is like for her to visit there now. She shares the joys of living with her grandma, mom, aunts and cousins in Panama.
We chat about her experience as a young adult coming to the United States to learn English.  She shares how dreaming in the new language and understanding the radio is when she realized she really knows the language. We explore wonderful topics during this discussion such as nostalgia for our childhood, multigenerational living, family support, the food she enjoys and the soothing rain in Panama.

Interview with Sonya Benson

Jenny and Lisa interview Sonya Benson in this weeks episode.
In this interview, we learn about Sonya's love and commitment to the outdoors. She shares how her and her husband built their own home with the help of friends and community.  She speaks about camping on her property for two and a half years as they build their beautiful home. She shares her love of the outdoors and her intentionality with mothering her kids in a rural environment and her journey into and through motherhood.

Dear Moms Answer Listener Questions

In this episode, Jenny and Lisa answer questions from Dear Moms Listeners. They discuss the intersection of faith, womanhood and motherhood where Jenny and Lisa both share their experiences and thoughts about faith in God and what it means and doesn't mean to them as women and moms. They also get personal with their symptoms of perimenopause including sleep issues, depression, heavy and irregular periods and mental fog. The last question Dear Moms answer in this episode is regarding mom guilt and how it impacts their parenting.

Jenny and Lisa interview Charlene in this weeks episode.
Charlene is a mom, a grandma, and was the very first female school principal in her small town in Washington State. She shares stories of motherhood and what it means to her to be a "guide on the side." She also speaks to the challenges and comedy of working as the only woman in a board room of men. Interview with Mindy Brouse Part 2

In part two of Mindy's interview, she shares her adoption story of a beautiful baby girl with Down's Syndrome. It is fascinating how her and her husband's adoption story of this baby girl intricately connects with the beginnings of her story she shared in part one! She shares the joys and challenges of being an "older mom", inducing lactation, and straddle parenting, and teaching skills to her kiddo with special needs. 
She shares the challenges of finding community for her child with special needs and the importance of taking care of each other.
In the post show, Lisa shares her experience of fostering a child. Jenny and Lisa talk about the traits we are born with and the challenges of that.
Jenny and Lisa also discuss what it means to them individually to be either pro life or pro choice and have an honest and vulnerable conversation of the differences and similarities they hold.

Interview with Mindy Brouse

This week, Dear Moms introduces part one of two interviews with Mindy Brouse.
In this part 1 interview, Jenny and Lisa talk with Mindy about her career/calling as deaf educator, and how this led to her and her husband fostering a deaf child for 6 years. Mindy speaks to the complexities of fostering an older child and the impact on her, the child and her family. She also shares insight into her life as a camp director, camp mom and a camp wife while raising her growing family. In our pre-show, learn how Jenny and Lisa met and how they became friends! We also introduce our new format of dividing our interviews into two parts with a pre and post show! In our post show, we talk about some tender topics like how it feels like society often blames moms for things that happen with our kids. We also learn how Lisa is becoming brave and discover Jenny's one flaw.  Enjoy the episode!

Amanda shares her experience in the military where she did static line jumping, as well as her unique journey with creating a blended family with her wife, Anya. She is the cool mom that jumps out of planes and can also speak to some very real and raw topics. You don't want to miss this episode!
